Nicotiana sylvestris 'Only the Lonely'
The scent is strongest at night, so as to attract pollinating moths. Flowers can be over 7 cm long with a face 2 cm wide.
This plant is thought to be one of the parents of Nicotiana tabacum, the plant used in modern tobacco production.

Nicotiana sylvestris 'Only the Lonely' has more than a touch of class, and makes an aristocratic statement at the back of a lightly shaded or sunny border. The largest of all the nicotiana varieties the stately flower stems are its eye-catching feature. They are topped in summer and early autumn with large, loose sprays of very long, slim drooping flowers.
This flowering tobacco stands regally in the garden at 1-1.5m (3-5′) tall, with a cascading head of pure white, tubular flowers that attract moths and hummingbirds
The clusters of pendulous glistening white blooms are intensely fragrant. When in full flower, each head is quite startling and resembles a graceful explosion. Occasionally a short lived perennial in a warm sheltered site.
