Sugar Beets -(WHITE)
Description
Sugar Beet
Biennial. 100 days to maturity. 9-12" height. 2-4" spacing. Produces a conical white beet that grows up to 12" long, with red stemmed, dark green leaves
The sugar beet has a conical, white, root (a taproot) with a flat crown. The plant consists both the root and a rosette of leaves.
The beet-root, when being boiled, yields a juice similar to syrup of sugar, which is beautiful to look at on account of its vermilion color.
Use Beets grown from Beet Seeds in raw salads, pickled, boiled with sauces, baked with other root vegetables, or in soups. Beet roots have many health benefits and the greens are even more nutritious, containing minerals, vitamins and fibre.
